ATA-Certified Translator
Unlike many other countries, the USA has no official licensing or certification for translators. The American Translators Association (ATA) offers certification to translators in selected language pairs and is the standard requirement for certified translations for American institutions (for example universities). As an ATA-Certified Translator (CT) for German into English I am qualified to prepare and certify translations for US institutions, for example academic transcripts for college applications. (Please note that I am not a sworn translator, i.e. I do not prepare certified translations for European organizations or institutions.)
